Certifications & OSHA Compliance
The most important thing to understand about this course: Asphalt Paving Mastery is a comprehensive professional training program for the hot-mix asphalt paving industry. It is not an OSHA-issued credential, a certification program, or a regulatory compliance product. It is designed to supplement — not replace — the safety training, certifications, and credentials your operation already needs to meet federal, state, and local requirements.
Does the course come with OSHA certification cards?
No. Asphalt Paving Mastery is not an authorized OSHA Outreach Training Program. We are not authorized OSHA Outreach Trainers, and our courses do not constitute OSHA 10-Hour or OSHA 30-Hour training as authorized under the OSHA Outreach Training Program. We do not issue OSHA Department of Labor student course completion cards. For authorized OSHA training, you must use a Department of Labor authorized OSHA Outreach Trainer.
Does the course replace my company's OSHA training program?
No. Our content supplements your existing OSHA-compliant safety training program — it does not replace it. Employers retain full responsibility for ensuring their workforce receives adequate OSHA-compliant training meeting all applicable regulatory requirements. Think of Asphalt Paving Mastery as a knowledge foundation that enhances your existing program, not a substitute for it.
Do you provide individual completion certificates for each worker?
No. The Independent, Regional, and National subscription tiers do not provide individual student enrollment, individual progress tracking, individual assessment records, or individual completion certificates. The course is designed for crews to view together on shared devices in your office, training room, break room, or job trailer. Documentation of which workers have viewed which content is your responsibility to maintain.
Then what does the course actually do for my workers?
The course provides comprehensive professional knowledge to your entire crew about the hot-mix asphalt paving industry. It covers safety practices, materials science, equipment operation, field execution, quality control, milling, MTV operations, defect recognition, DOT regulations, and emerging technologies like three-dimensional machine control. Workers who view the content gain a deep professional understanding of their craft, which improves the quality of their work, their ability to recognize problems, their safety awareness, and their value to the operation. The workers themselves become better at their jobs. That is the value the course delivers.
Will my workers be more compliant after viewing the course?
Workers who understand the regulations, specifications, and best practices that govern their work are better equipped to follow them. The course explains the "why" behind regulatory requirements, which helps workers comply with them in the field. However, regulatory compliance is determined by your operation's specific practices, documentation, and adherence to applicable laws — not by viewing any specific training content.
Can I claim that my workers are "Asphalt Paving Mastery certified"?
No. We do not certify, credential, or qualify individual workers. Representing that any individual has been certified, credentialed, or qualified by Asphalt Paving Mastery LLC is a violation of our Terms of Service.
Will the course help with my company's safety record or insurance?
Many operations find that comprehensive workforce training improves their safety culture, reduces incidents, and may favorably affect insurance considerations. However, we make no specific representations about insurance impacts, EMR ratings, or safety outcomes. Discuss any insurance-related questions with your insurance broker, who is best positioned to advise on how training programs affect your specific policy.
The Subscription Model
How does the subscription work?
Asphalt Paving Mastery is delivered as a device-based subscription. You pay a monthly or annual fee based on how many devices you want authorized to access the course content. Once your subscription is active, you log into our platform on the authorized devices, and your crew can view any module included in your tier. There is no per-employee licensing, no per-worker enrollment, and no individual student tracking on our standard tiers.
What does "device-based" mean exactly?
A device is a single piece of hardware — a desktop computer, laptop, tablet, mobile phone, or smart television. Each device counts toward your subscription limit regardless of how many people view content on that device. If you authorize one device and put it on a wall-mounted television in your training room, your entire crew can watch the course on that one device. The subscription tier you choose determines how many devices you can authorize.
Why a device-based model instead of per-employee?
Per-employee licensing creates administrative burden and recordkeeping that does not serve the way paving operations actually work. Your foreman does not want to track which workers have completed which modules. Your safety coordinator wants the entire crew to share a common knowledge foundation. A device-based model is operationally simpler — you put the course on the screens where your crew already gathers (morning meetings, toolbox talks, training rooms, break rooms), and everyone watches together.
How is this different from buying a one-time training video?
A one-time video is static. It is what it was the day you bought it, and it never improves. A subscription is dynamic. As industry standards evolve, regulations change, technologies emerge, and best practices update, we update the course content. Your subscription always includes the most current version of the curriculum. Subscribers also receive new modules and lessons as they are released, without additional cost (within their tier).
Do I need to install software?
No. The course is delivered through a web-based subscription platform. Any device with a modern web browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge) and an internet connection can access the course. There is nothing to install or download.
Devices & Device Limits
What counts as a device?
A device is a single piece of hardware used to log into the platform. Each unique computer, laptop, tablet, phone, or smart television counts as one device. The number of people watching that device does not matter.
What if my crew exceeds my device limit?
The platform enforces device limits technically. If you attempt to authorize more devices than your tier allows, the platform will block the additional logins. You have three options: ask the crew to share existing authorized devices (the simplest solution), reassign device access from a device that is no longer being used, or upgrade to a higher tier with more devices.
Can I move my subscription to a different device?
Yes. You can reassign device access from one piece of hardware to another. This is intended for legitimate operational reasons — for example, replacing a broken tablet or moving the course from one trailer to another. Frequent rotation of devices to circumvent device limits is a violation of our Terms of Service.
Can workers watch the course on their own phones?
Workers can watch the course on a phone that is one of your authorized devices. However, sharing your subscription login with workers' personal devices outside your authorized count is a violation of our Terms of Service and may result in account suspension or termination.
Does the course work offline?
The course requires an active internet connection. We do not provide offline viewing or downloadable content. For job sites with limited connectivity, we recommend reviewing content in advance at your office, trailer, or break room where reliable internet is available.
What devices and browsers are supported?
The platform works on any device with a modern web browser. Recommended browsers include the latest versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge. The platform is responsive and works on desktop computers, laptops, tablets, and mobile phones. Smart televisions with web browsers (or a connected device like an Apple TV, Roku, or Chromecast) also work.
Tiers & Premium Modules
What are the tiers?
We offer four subscription tiers:
- Independent — 1 device. Includes the core curriculum.
- Regional — 5 devices. Includes the core curriculum.
- National — 9 devices. Includes the core curriculum and all Premium Modules.
- Enterprise — 10 or more devices, with custom contract terms.
What are Premium Modules?
Premium Modules are specialty modules that cover advanced or specialty topics beyond the core curriculum. Premium Modules currently include Module 11 (Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement), Module 12 (Airport Paving Operations), and Module 13 (Three-Dimensional Machine Control). Premium Modules are included with the National and Enterprise tiers at no additional cost.
Why is Module 13 also sold as a standalone product?
Module 13 (Three-Dimensional Machine Control) addresses a rapidly emerging technology that some operations want to access independently without subscribing to the full curriculum. We offer Module 13 as a standalone subscription for operations that specifically need 3D machine control training. Operations that subscribe to the full course at the National or Enterprise tier already have access to Module 13 and do not need a separate standalone subscription.
Can I just buy Module 12 (Airport Paving) without subscribing to the full course?
Module 12 is currently only available as part of the National or Enterprise tier subscription. We do not offer Module 12 as a standalone product at this time.
What is the difference between the Independent and Regional tiers if they have the same content?
The only difference is the device count. The Independent tier authorizes one device, intended for sole proprietors, very small contractors, or operations that want a single training screen. The Regional tier authorizes five devices, intended for contractors with multiple crews, multiple yards, or operations that want training accessible in several locations simultaneously.
Can I upgrade my subscription tier later?
Yes. You can upgrade your subscription at any time. The platform will prorate the difference, and your new device limit takes effect immediately. Downgrading to a lower tier takes effect at the start of your next billing period.
Will the Premium Modules ever be included with lower tiers?
We reserve the right to change tier inclusions over time. Currently, Premium Modules are included only with the National and Enterprise tiers. If our practices change, current subscribers will be notified of material changes affecting their active subscription.
Enterprise Subscriptions
Who is the Enterprise tier for?
The Enterprise tier is for operations that need 10 or more devices, want custom contract terms, require ACH or check payment instead of credit card, need custom documentation or reporting features, or want negotiated terms specific to their organization. Most large contractors, multi-state operations, and corporate-level training programs fall into this category.
Why does the Enterprise tier require a separate agreement?
Enterprise customers typically have specific procurement, payment, and operational requirements that go beyond what a standard subscription handles. Custom device counts, custom payment terms, dedicated onboarding, training documentation provisions, and audit rights all benefit from a written agreement specifically negotiated between us and the Enterprise Subscriber.
How do I start an Enterprise subscription?
Contact us at Support@AsphaltPavingMastery.com or (407) 687-0267 and tell us roughly how many devices you need and any specific requirements you have in mind. We will follow up to discuss the specifics, prepare a proposal, and draft an Enterprise Subscription Agreement tailored to your operation.
How long does the Enterprise process take?
Typical Enterprise sales cycles range from two to six weeks, depending on your organization's procurement and legal review process. We aim to provide an initial proposal within five business days of our first conversation. Larger organizations with multiple stakeholders, procurement teams, or legal review may take longer to complete.
Can Enterprise subscribers get training documentation for their workers?
Yes. Enterprise Subscribers can negotiate custom completion documentation features as part of their Enterprise Subscription Agreement. This is one of the meaningful differences between the standard tiers and Enterprise.
The Course Content
What modules are included?
The full curriculum includes 13 modules covering safety, materials science and plant operations, job planning and site preparation, paver operations, compaction and density, material transfer vehicles, milling operations, handwork and finishing, defect recognition and diagnosis, DOT regulations and quality control, reclaimed asphalt pavement (Premium), airport paving operations (Premium), and three-dimensional machine control (Premium).
How long is the course?
The full curriculum represents over 100 hours of professional training content across all 13 modules. Individual lessons range from 15 to 90 minutes depending on the topic. Modules typically contain between 7 and 17 lessons.
How is the content delivered?
The course is delivered through professional video lessons with narrated instruction, supplemented by technical diagrams, illustrations, animations, slide presentations, and reference materials. Each lesson is built around a specific topic and concludes with a clear summary of key points.
What level of worker is the course designed for?
The course is built to serve crews at every experience level. New hires use it as a foundational knowledge base. Experienced operators use it to refresh and deepen their understanding. Foremen, superintendents, and quality control personnel use it to align their crews on industry best practices. The content is technical enough to satisfy experienced professionals and approachable enough for new workers.
Is the content updated?
Yes. We update content as industry standards evolve, regulations change, and best practices improve. Your subscription always includes access to the most current version of the curriculum.
Are sources cited?
Yes. The curriculum draws from authoritative industry sources including the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO), National Asphalt Pavement Association (NAPA), Asphalt Institute, ASTM International, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), and state Departments of Transportation. A comprehensive Master Sources & Citations Reference is available on our website.
Who built the course?
Asphalt Paving Mastery was founded and built by Davon Mohabir, owner of Asphalt Paving Mastery LLC, drawing on six years of hands-on field experience across Florida — from rural roadway construction to major highway projects and airport paving at facilities like Orlando International (MCO). Having operated every machine on the spread and spent significant time in QC labs and plant towers, he built the curriculum around real specification requirements, field experience, and the technical knowledge that traditionally takes years to acquire.
Technical & Platform
What platform hosts the course?
The course is delivered through Uscreen, a professional video subscription platform. Your subscription, account access, and viewing all happen through the Uscreen platform.
How do I log in?
After subscribing, you receive an email with login credentials and a link to access the platform. You log in through any modern web browser on any of your authorized devices.
Can multiple devices stream at the same time?
Yes. The devices authorized under your subscription can stream content simultaneously. For example, if you have a Regional tier subscription with five devices, all five devices can stream different lessons at the same time.
What internet speed do I need?
Standard broadband internet (10 megabits per second or faster) is sufficient for high-quality streaming. Lower speeds will still work but may default to lower video quality.
Is there a mobile app?
The platform works through any modern web browser on mobile devices, which means you do not need a separate app. The viewing experience is optimized for mobile screens automatically.
What if I have technical issues?
Contact us at Support@AsphaltPavingMastery.com with a description of the issue and we will work to resolve it. For platform-specific issues, Uscreen also provides direct user support through their help center.
Billing, Cancellation & Refunds
What payment methods do you accept?
For standard subscriptions (Independent, Regional, National), we accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. Enterprise subscribers may also pay by ACH bank transfer or check.
How am I billed?
Subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, depending on the billing cycle you choose). Annual billing offers a discount compared to monthly billing. Your subscription will continue and automatically renew at the then-current rate unless you cancel.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes. You can cancel your subscription at any time. Your cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period, and you continue to have access through the end of that period. No partial-period or prorated refunds are issued upon cancellation, except as expressly provided in our Terms of Service.
Do you offer refunds?
For standard subscriptions, a refund of the initial subscription payment is available within thirty days of the initial subscription start date, provided no lesson content has been accessed beyond introductory or preview materials on any authorized device. Once any lesson content has been accessed, the subscription becomes non-refundable for that billing period. Subscription renewal payments are non-refundable except as required by applicable law. Enterprise refund terms are governed by the specific Enterprise Subscription Agreement.
What if my subscription renews and I forgot to cancel?
You can still cancel after a renewal occurs, but the renewal payment is non-refundable. Your access will continue through the end of the new billing period, and no further charges will occur.
Will my price ever change?
We may update subscription pricing from time to time. Price changes do not affect your current billing cycle but apply to subsequent renewals. We will notify you in advance of any price changes affecting your subscription.
Demos, Trials & Evaluation
Can I see a sample of the course before subscribing?
Yes. Sample lesson previews are available on our website so you can evaluate the production quality, content depth, and instructional style before committing to a subscription.
Do you offer free trials?
Free trial availability varies by tier and time of year. Check the subscription page on our website for current offerings, or contact us to discuss evaluation options.
Can my safety coordinator review the course before we purchase?
Yes. For evaluation purposes, we can arrange a sales demonstration for your safety coordinator, training manager, or other qualified evaluator. Contact us at Support@AsphaltPavingMastery.com to schedule.
Will you do a presentation for our team?
For prospective Enterprise customers and qualifying multi-device prospects, we can arrange presentations or detailed walkthroughs of the curriculum. Contact us to discuss what makes sense for your operation.
